Braces from Atchuthan Sivananthan and Ronaldo Marshall guided Alliance and Woodbridge Strikers
to dominant wins on Day Three in the men's division, while Oakville finally found a way
to overpower a stubborn, well-organized and refreshed Durham side on their return to League1 play.

The Oakville Blue Devils opened their season with a 1-0 win against Durham FC at home after
a late goal from Khody Ellis.

The first half was evenly matched up, but Oakville had a slight edge over Durham. The Blue Devils
effectively pressed high on their opponents causing two turnovers within the first fifteen
minutes of play.

In the closing minutes of the first half, Oakville dominated possession and play in the
attacking third, but Durham’s backl-ine would be prove to be tough to break through.

In the 70th minute, Blue Devil’s Birnstingl keeps Lee off the scoring sheet in a one on one chance.
Birnstingl just managed to get a foot on the ball to keep it out of the back of the net.

However, Oakville's persistent attacking play would eventually find a way through a few moments
later, as second half substitute Braden Culver crossed the ball into the 18-yard box
and Khody Ellis (85') managed to break the deadlock.

Oakville will next play Darby FC on May 10 (8 p.m.) at the Whitby Soccer Centre, Whitby.

Durham will next play FC London on May 12 (1 p.m) at the Pickering Soccer Centre, Pickering.

Woodbridge Strikers earned their first win of the season on Sunday, defeating Windsor TFC
3-0 at home.

Cavallini (21') scored an early opener before second half substitute Marshall (80', 86')
led the way to victory with a second half brace.

Windsor TFC almost found themselves level going into the break. Woodbridge were at fault
for a poor clearance and Windsor midfielder Dieker collected the ball in the middle of the
park and unleashed a rocket of a shot that barely missed the upper ninety.

The second half was a physical affair as the players seemed to lose the energy to keep up.
The channels began to open up and Woodbridge brought on Marshall. The forward immediately
made an impact scoring two minutes after coming on.

The second goal came just as quick, as the forward broke down the middle of the pitch
and slid the ball past the keeper to guarantee the three points.

Woodbridge Strikers will next play Aurora FC at Stewart Burnett, Aurora on May 12 (6 p.m.).

Windsor TFC will next play Alliance United at University of Windsor on May 10 (8 p.m.).

In the last match of the 2019 League1 kickoff weekend, Alliance United FC managed to beat
Toronto Skillz FC 4-0 at Mount Joy Turf with goals from Milan Beader (34'),
Atchuthan Sivananthan (57', 90'), and Chris Javocou (71').

Chances were few and far between in the first 20 minutes of the game, as each team
struggled to break down the opposition's defense, but Alliance United managed to score
through Beader's finish to the right side of Toronto Skillz goalkeeper Rodrigo Aguiar.

Toronto Skillz tested the opposition's goalkeeper at the end of the first half, but
Praveen Ahilan made a good save to keep it 1-0 at half-time.

Alliance FC took control of the game after the interval, scoring two more goals to put
the result out of question.

With his two goals, Atchuthan Sivananthan becomes the joint top scorer of the League1
Ontario men's division, alongside Bayley Winkel of Darby FC and Ronaldo Marshal
of Woodbridge Strikers.

Alliance United FC will next play Windsor TFC at University of Windsor Stadium, Windsor
on May 10 (8 p.m.).

Toronto Skillz FC will next play Master’s Futbol at L'Amoreaux, Toronto on May 11 (8 p.m.).
