September 6, 2018 USL Toronto FC II--Toronto FC II vs Ottawa Fury FC game review (from torontofc.ca)
Match Recap: Toronto FC II vs. Ottawa Fury FC September 6, 2018 10:32PM EDT Adam Krueger What a wild game that was. TFC II and the Ottawa Fury played to a seven-goal thriller on Thursday night at Lamport Stadium on what turned out to be a beautiful night for football. The Young Reds controlled the run of play throughout the first half but Ottawa struck twice within the first 45 on goals from Tony Taylor and Christian Portilla. The second came directly off a corner kick for an Olimpico. TFC II was stuck 2-0 at the break. Michael Rabasca must have had a good halftime talk as the Young Reds came out of the break with fire and in the 47th minute, the Reds scored twice to level the score. First, Jon Bakero curled home a beautiful first-time volley into the top corner to get the Reds on the board. And then off the ensuing kickoff, Tsubasa Endoh streaked in to slip home his fourth goal of the season to tie it up at 2. Ottawa jumped back out in front off another corner as the ball took a couple of bounces in the box before finding its way in. Jordan Hamilton was then fouled in the 18 by keeper David Monsalve. The striker stepped up to the spot and buried the ball to knot things at three. However, Ottawa dealt the last blow as Adonijah Reid headed in a ball to finish off a well-worked counter attack. The win was important for the Fury as it moved them into a tie for the final playoff spot in the East. Toronto FC II is back in action in a week as they travel to New York to take on NYRB II. Kickoff from New Jersey is set for 7:00 PM. As always you can catch all the action live on TFC2.ca.
