June 16, 2018 USL Toronto FC II--Indy Eleven vs Toronto FC II game review (from torontofc.ca)
Match Recap: TFC II vs. Indy Eleven June 16, 2018 9:33PM EDT Adam Krueger Rochester – Toronto FC II battled USL newbies Indy Eleven in Rochester as part of the second of four games to be played at Marina Auto Stadium this year. Indy opened the scoring in the 23rd minute as Kevin Venegas came streaking down the right on a counter attack and worked his way in tight before rocketing his shot into the top corner. TFC II quickly answered back as the team worked together a great attacking phase. Marino Mino played the ball in for Aidan Daniels who one-touched the ball over to Ayo Akinola at the top of the box. Akinola ripped home a shot into the upper left corner. Right before the halftime whistle Indy retook the lead as Justin Braun fired home a point blank shot off a pass from Venegas. Braun would hit again right after the restart as he rose up to head home his second goal of the game. TFC II had some chances to pull back into the match, most notability in the dying moments as substitute Malik Johnson fired a low swerving ball on goal but Indy keeper Owain Fon Williams made a stunning stop to deny Johnson and keep the score at 3-1. TFC II return to action next Wednesday when they play host to FC Cincinnati at BMO Field. Kickoff is set for 8:00 PM.
