The match with Toronto FC II is the third contest in five days for Penn FC. The first of which was a 3-0 win against the Tampa Bay Rowdies at FNB Field, marking the first win in Penn FC history. On Monday, the Blue and White fell to Ottawa Fury FC, also at home, thanks to a controversial goal in the 87th minute. But those two games are now behind the club as it looks to secure three points on the road Wednesday. “We go, we wipe our mouth off and go and try to win those three points back that we lost (Monday) in Toronto,” Head Coach Raoul Voss said after Monday’s match. The late goal Monday was a tough one to accept but the squad is ready to take the chance to make amends. “I think it’s always a good thing when you can turn around that quickly,” Penn FC defender Kyle Venter said Monday. “Obviously, recovery wise, you would like a couple more days. I think it’s wrong that we have to turn around so quickly but it’s the cards that we’re dealt and when we step on the bus Tuesday morning, our focus is on Toronto and getting three points on the road before we have our break.” Toronto FC II will be looking for its first win of the 2018 campaign on Wednesday morning. In its last match, Toronto fell 2-1 to Pittsburgh in a game that was contested in Rochester at Marina Auto Stadium. The Riverhounds struck first in the 12th minute and added to the lead before halftime with a goal by Kevin Kerr. The Reds Shaan Hundal pulled one back in stoppage time to leave the final margin at 2-1. Toronto has been more efficient as the home side so far this season as both of the ties on the record came at BMO Field but still have a -5 goal differential at home. Penn FC is 0-2-2 on the road in 2018, having allowed five goals in those four matches. Canadian midfielder Aidan Daniels has played in all seven of TFC II’s games so far this season and is one of three players to find the net. The 19-year-old scored in the ninth minute of Toronto’s match with the Richmond Kickers, giving his side the early lead. The Kickers scored two minutes later to equalize and then added the game-winner after halftime to deny TFC II it’s chance at victory. Matthew Srbely, also a 19-year-old Canadian, and Shaan Hundal, an 18-year-old from Canada, have hit the net this season as well for Toronto. For Penn FC, Tommy Heinemann -- who was named the USL’s Player of the Week for week 8 – is the leading scorer with three goals in five appearances. Defenders Ken Tribbett and Kyle Venter have each scored once for Rush Soccer’s First Team.
