Match Recap: Toronto FC II vs. New York Red Bulls II April 28, 2018 9:24PM EDT Adam Krueger On a cool night by the lake Toronto FC II and the New York Red Bulls II played to a scoreless draw. Despite the score line the match had it’s moments of excitement. Right off the hop TFC II controlled the run of play and generated the early chances going forward. Ben Spencer had two chances in a row but was blocked on the first attempt and denied by Evan Louro on the second. The Red Bulls pushed back near the end of the half but the Reds backline stood tall to keep it scoreless into the break. The moment of the match came in the 58th minute as Marino Miño was called for a foul in the box and New York was awarded a spot kick. Keeper Caleb Patterson-Sewell stepped up in a huge way to deny Stefano Bonomo. New York’s high press gave the Reds some trouble late in the match but the defensive unit again did well in keeping the match scoreless. Toronto FC II returns to action next Saturday, as they take on the Pittsburgh Riverhounds in a home match that will be played in Rochester, New York. Kickoff is set for 6:00 PM Marina Auto Stadium.
