Unionville wrapped up their regular season with an important 1-0 victory over North Mississauga SC, securing a spot
in the playoffs.

North Mississauga going into the match was already mathematically eliminated from play-off contention, but the match
still kicked off with a great deal of intensity as the visiting side was looking to finish the season on a high note.

Within the first eleven minutes of the match, the referee pulled out the first caution; Unionville's Richard Edwards
was adjudged to be on the wrong side of the laws of the game after a heavy collision in the air.

Both sides were able to successfully break through each other's defensive line, but the struggle came with putting
the ball on target.

Unionville's Isaiah-Prentice Whyte (45') sneaked into the goal area just before the half-time whistle and managed
to slip the ball in behind North Mississauga's Gereon Bayer. It was decent return for the home side, as each team
managed only two shots on target by half-time.

In the second half, the intensity and aggression between the two sides escalated and resulted in five cautions
being issued.

Unionville's James Nathan, Nicolas Martinez and Adrian Ibanez were cautioned. On North Mississauga, it was
Morad Al-Muhandes and Mohammed Habilzi.

North Mississauga pushed and pressured in the closing seconds to tie up the match, coming close to complicating
their opponents' route to playoff qualification.

Nothing was getting through Unionville's keeper, Adrian Ibanez, as he put on a show with some wonderful saves.
Ibanez earned his first clean sheet of the regular season.

North Mississauga closes out the 2018 season with a record of 3W-9L-4T and ended up 13th in the standings.

Unionville finished the season with a record of 6W-5L-5T and positioned in eighth position in the regular season.
Unionville will take up seventh position in the playoff format due to the lack of post-season involvement
of fourth place side, Toronto FC III.
