He passes low cross from 15 yards on left near end line to charging Vilela who shoots 10 yarder down middle over

from 28 yards on the left. Referee Jason Vaillancourt investigates and McNamara gets back up and is held back
by OBD teammates. Vaillancourt goes to the sidelines to consult with the referee's assistant. When he leaves
a dustup commences on the edge of the box and he goes over to break it up. The players do separate. McNamara slumps
down sitting on the field for some time waiting for a decision. The referee now goes to the other side
of the field to talk to the fourth official.
39 min...NMP RED card...Triston Watson earns his second Yellow card (his first was at 25 minutes) for elbowing McNamara
at the 34 minute mark while they were waiting for the throw-in. You could consider this non-technology aided VAR as play
had not commenced since 34 minutes and it took that long for the referee to consult with the RA and fourth official
and break up the pushing match.
42 min...OBD Podrebarac long pass from left over players to OBD Vilela who can't control it at 10 yards and ball deflects
off him and out over right end line.
43 min...OBD Novak chips pass from 30 yards on left to OBD Vilela who chips goalie from 18 yards but ball lands on top of net.

50 min...OBD player blasts ball over net and backfence and rolls over roof of clubhouse and into parking lot. I've never
seen that before!
50 min...NMP Nicolson receives centering pass and 25 yard shot is over net and back fence.
52 min...NMP Ameen run to left end line and hard cross inside 6 yard box deflects off NMP player over net.
53 min...NMP Prescod boots 15 yarder from left high wide right after NMP Nicolson dummies shot to let ball rolls through
to NMP Prescod on low cross.

one hand grab of ball at 15 yards. The NMP goalie was injured when he's stepped on. The whistle is blown before a OBD player
can kick rebound.

pass forward to left behind a charging OBD player who was pursued by a defender but turns back to get a foot on it
at 10 yards and deflect it over to to Ellis at 5 yards in open just wide left of post and he shoots into open short side
of net with goalie guarding middle.

Attendance was about 100 on this cool night.

That appeared to be a legit head injury to tonight's OBD captain Konnor McNamara who did not return to the game for
the second half hopefully just as a precaution. Another OBD defender Victor Gallo played a full 90 and leads the
league with 1350 minutes playing every league minute of their 15 games.

Filipe Vilela opened the scoring at 28 seconds and played the full 90 minutes. Sunday afternoon he played for his
school George Brown College and scored two goals for them.

Anthony Novak scored his seventeenth and eighteenth goals of the season in league play. That leads the scoring race
by six (Connor Wilson scored his twelfth of the season for FC London Sunday afternoon).

With school being back in session there are some missing players on both teams. Sundin Esperance (not that he went
back to school) took all the cornerkicks and freekicks in the last few games and not being there tonight left NMP less
dangerous in their attack. NMP have only scored 14 goals in their 14 league games. Red carding leading scorer
Triston Watson (3 goals) in the first half didn't help.

Another shutout for Oakville. They have the second best defence in the league with allowing only 9 goals
in their 15 games. Matt George had been the starter earlier this season but he's not on their roster. A soccer mom
in the crowd said he was now on Vaughan Azzurri. The musical chairs of the league for the trade deadline I'd learn
a little more about at tomorrow's games. Today's shutout was by Lucas Bernstingl. He has a record of allowing
only 2 goals in 7 games and 5 shutouts since joining the team.

I've become obsessed with the first ever game of Toronto FC Academy on May 16, 2008 while researching my own online
archives for a bookend before TFC III playing their last L1O (or they may have already played it because their USSDA
season has started). That first game had Jason Bent as the head coach, with assistant coach Stuart Neely, and manager
Nick Dasovic. Ashtone Morgan was a starting midfielder. During a post match interview after a Toronto FC II game
Jordan Hamilton said he used to watch his brother play for TFCA at Lamport Stadium. Wow there he is Jarret Hamilton
listed as a bench player. Also on the bench was backup goalie Lucas Birnstingl. He certainly didn't have a red beard
like today. It was a huge upset that they beat the previous year's champs Toronto Croatia.

Like an omen I had to introduce myself. He'd heard of me. We talked about that game for awhile then I asked him
where he'd been until he resurfaced on Toronto Skillz last year (a team that had one of the worst defensive records
in L1O). He said he was 17 at the time of that TFCA game.

He read out team names so fast I couldn't write them all down but he said I'd find his history on the
transfermarkt.co.uk site. So a slow read reveals by 2009 he was with teams in Scotland: Dundee FC, Clyde FC,
Bo'Ness United, Queen's Park (the Spiders not the English QP Rangers), Airdrieonians, and Montrose. Pierce Lang
from Oakville and L1O tipped him to leave Skillz to build a better record for CPL scouting. He was born and grew
up in Oakville. To show off I told him about Jaroslaw Radzinski the forty year old defender who played a complete
game tonight for NMP. 'Jarrod' is the younger brother of Tomasz Radzinski who is in the Canadian Soccer Hall of Fame
and was a player I watched in the second year (1989) of the North York Rockets of the original CSL the first year
I attended soccer games.

Low flying planes continued to fly overhead as they had in the afternoon descending for the nearby runway of Pearson
Airport because of the low clouds. A short fireworks display broke out in the distance from an unknown location but
fans had to turn their heads around to see it. Everyone seemed to like it except one lady and her frightened poodle
in the front row.

North Mississauga falls to a record of 3 wins, 7 losses, 4 ties for 13 points with two matches to go.
That's in a tie with Masters FA for eleventh place (results up to Saturday night). They had an opening for themselves
when Alliance United were beaten on this field just hours before against Sigma FC. Alliance has 18 points so it's
still technically possible but there are other teams that can close the gap playing tomorrow.

The win moves Oakville to a record of 9 wins, 1 loss, and 5 ties for 32 points. That moves them into third place
[spoiler: Sunday's result had FC London win and keep pace with Oakville also at 32 points but FCL have two games
to left in their regular season while OBD have only one].
