Treyvon McInnis (90' + 1') secured an important three points for Darby FC in their bid for playoff status
after a late-game winner over the visitors Alliance United FC.

Both east-end Toronto teams came into the match tied on points in the standings and looking to get ahead
of their opponents to secure a playoff spot.

The first half saw both teams sharing possession, getting an equal number of chances on goal - two shots
on target and four shots off.

Darby's best chances in the first half came from set-pieces, while Alliance's best chances came from shots
from distance.

Alliance's Anthony Sousa almost got one as he went head-to-head against a Darby defender, with his shot
just skimming past the left upright.

Darby had a great chance towards the end of the half, when Cameron Brooks took a free-kick from the right
side of the pitch just outside the box. His left foot in-swinger was heading towards goal but slightly
deflected off target at the last minute by the head of an Alliance defender.

As the second half rolled around, Alliance had an early chance as the substitute Bogdan Poliakhov carried
down the line and struck a ball just wide of the left upright.

Tensions ran high this half as both teams searched to break the stalemate, eyeing all three points
and movement up the standings.

In the 67th minute of play, Alliance almost got on the scoresheet again, but the shot was ultimately
denied by the diving hands of Darby's goalkeeper, Matt Zaikos, who would make three saves this half.

Minutes later, Darby's Vincenzo Sasso made a blazing run down the right side. His cross found
Nashon Campbell at the back post and although his bicycle kick was on target, it was comfortably saved
by Alliance's goalkeeper, Mark Rogal, who made two saves this half.

In the dying minutes of the game, Darby's Brooks would swing another cross into the box and find
Raphael Reynolds at the back post. Reynolds headed the ball across the face of goal to find the substitute,
Treyvon McInnis, who made no mistake heading it into the back of the net.

With this win, Darby move ahead of Unionville and Alliance in the standings; Darby now sit in seventh
position on 17 points with four matches left to play.

Darby FC will next play Prostars on August 24 (8 p.m.) at Whitby Soccer Centre, Whitby.

Alliance United FC will next play Toronto FC III on August 22 (8 p.m.) at Centennial College, Toronto.
