Attendance was about 30 on this hot afternoon with a cooling breeze from the east. The breeze eventually wafted in fumes
from the idling aircraft from the runway of Downsview Airport.

Before the game I asked an OSUF official when their bus left Ottawa and when it arrived in Toronto. 6:00AM and arrived
at 11:00AM. TFC does have the earliest starting times in the league.

TFC III head coach Danny Dichio had his own worries as the academy had sent two teams of teenagers down to Mexico for
a tournament and another team to a tournament at York University (a few km from here) against local teams and
a Juventus (Italy) youth team. So he said there a few 2003s in his lineup. I counted two both on the bench plus
more 2002s then usual.

A tired team vs a young team, this could be interesting. I expected TFC would hope for a quick lead and then introduce
the youngest players with the game safely in hand. They did hold off until their third goal to start making chances
whereas every other game I can think of there's usually been a change or two at halftime. Good on OSUF for holding on so long.

Referee Scott Bowman gave out no Yellow cards in this game. He did call award TFC a Penalty kick and ordered off OSUF
Turner Johnson for treatment of a bloody nose (for taking a ball in the face). OSUF didn't bring a trainer so the TFC therapist
fixed him up.

Third TFC goal was scored by 2002 starter Jahan Lawrence (his first L1O game) and fourth was by (2003) Kobe Franklin who
was TFCs first sub at 61 minutes and it was also his L1O debut.

One of the subs eventually brought on at 71 minutes was the L1O debut of Osaze De Rosario (2001) who is the son
of Canadian Hall of Famer Dwayne De Rosario. A few game crew officials said they could see Dwayne on the fan side
of the field but I couldn't. I would have seen Ozaze on television in a reality show (somewhat like those Kardashians shows)
about the De Rosario family a few years ago when Dwayne was getting ready to retire from TFC. Dwayne is scheduled to be
at the Allstate Soccer Show next Sunday at the Hangar (the other side of the parking lot from here) so I may be able to ask
him while there. He has his own soccer academy and a team in the L1O in the Women's Division named DeRo United. He answered
me earlier in the year that none of his daughters play for that team.

For this game the teammates treated him 'like it was his birthday' (one of my longtime expressions) by setting him up to score.
One minute after coming on TFC Luke Singh sent in a cornerkick from the right that De Rosario headed down at 8 yards and
a defender cleared on the left side near the post. Later he had a few shots blocked including OSUF Turner Johnson sliding
in at 10 yards to block one without taking him down after he was sent in a through ball pass and another where a defender
outjumped him for a header in the box on a cornerkick.

Michael De Leo (2001) earned the shutout for TFC in his L1O debut. He had a pretty easy night although he was tested at 64 minutes
when OSUF Kaweke Sophas blasted a 15 yarder from the left that De Leo sprawled to save and OSUF Kirk Moody then blasted the 12 yard
rebound up the middle that he was able to stop at 3 yards while still not standing.

There were no ballboys today. Game officials said the novelty of offering MLS team TFC tickets has worn off (and gameday pizza).
One of them suggested that they go outside their own academy which I have seen earlier this season. However there is only one more
home game this season. There was also no electricity on one side of the field and the extension cords were not long enough
so they mounted the PA announcer table at the far end near the player's entrance. I wondered why the announcements were so delayed
and he said it was because he was reading the twitter messages about the game on the league handle and had to wait for them
to arrive. He also doubled as a ball boy on a play where a ball was sent into the next field.

The win improves TFC's record to 9 wins, 2 losses, 2 ties for 29 points with three games to go. That's puts them all alone
in second place, 3 points behind Sigma FC but that team has one game in hand.

OSUF's record drops to 2 wins, 6 losses, 4 ties for 10 points. That puts them in a tie for thirteenth with Toronto Skillz
(who pulled into the tie with their result against Masters FA later in the afternoon).

Ding Ding! This game means I have now seen all the L1O men's teams a minimum of three times (in 37 games total)....except Windsor
which I'm stuck at two and with my schedule I won't be able to see them again this season. They won't be making post season play.
