Sigma FC hold onto a 2-1 win over the home team Aurora FC after goals from Daniel Jodah (64')
and Charlie Anagho-Ntamark (77').

Sigma had a chance to get on the scoreboard in the first minute of play when Mansoor Alfazy,
Kadell Thomas and Justin Stoddart combined. Stoddart's strike had Aurora goalkeeper Ryan Collins
beat, but he was ultimately denied by the left post.

Some back-and-forth possession occurred early in the first half as Aurora found themselves having
some success in the opponent's half.

The rest of the half would see Sigma with majority of possession, and Aurora doing well to close
them down quickly and limit Sigma's success in the attacking third. Sigma kept trying to slot
through Thomas, but Aurora defender Morey Doner did well to close him down on the left side.

Despite having four corners this half, Sigma couldn't capitalize on them, shooting off target
or having their chances denied by the punching hands of Aurora's GK Collins.

Second half action was nothing short of exciting as both teams went back-and-forth on goal
looking to take away three points.

In the first minute of play after the restart, Aurora's Jordale Byers ran onto a ball and was
in on goal when Sigma's Dominic Samuel took him down in the box. Samuel received a caution
for the tackle and Aurora were awarded the penalty kick. Dylan Rennie stepped up to take
it and sailed it over the bar – surely a relief for Sigma.

Later on, Sigma's Tristan Borges, Stoddart, and Thomas would combine. Thomas was in on goal
but again Aurora's Collins came out and made a great save.

Sigma got the first goal of the game when Jodah's shot outside the 18-yard-box was deflected
off an Aurora defender and into the back of the net.

Shortly after, Aurora would be awarded another penalty after a scramble in the box led
to a hand-ball by a Sigma player. This time Aurora's captain Doner (72') stepped up and
calmly finished past Sigma's Triston Henry.

Tensions ran high as the game was equalized 1-1.

Sigma substitute Anagho-Ntamark (77') would quickly make a difference within seconds
of stepping onto the pitch, finishing after connecting with a pass right across the
face of goal.

Aurora would not settle in the late stages, pressuring high on Sigma in the last five
minutes in search of the equalizer. They would have eight shots this half with three
hitting on target.

Aurora's best chance of equalizing came in the 90th minute when a free-kick was swung
in to the box. Substitute Nicholas Theodorakakis got control of it at the top of the box,
but struck it just over the crossbar.

With this win, Sigma move into a two-way tie for first place.

Aurora FC will next play Sanjaxx Lions on August 12 (2 p.m.) at Monarch Park Stadium, Toronto.

Sigma FC will next play Toronto FC III on August 12 (11 a.m.) at BMO Training Ground,
Toronto in a battle for first place.
