Two quick goals in the first half was all the Woodbridge Strikers needed to get all three points
against Masters FA in Matchweek 10 action at L'Amoreaux, Toronto.

The match began with both sides wasting no time in trying to win the ball deep in their opponents half,
pressing high and forcing a high tempo for 90 minutes.

The two teams lined up in similar fashion, as Woodbridge went with a 4-2-3-1 and Masters in a 4-1-3-2.

Woodbridge would take control quickly, getting three shots off close to goal and earning another three
corners before the 15 minute mark.

Masters would quickly adapt and began pushing the ball deep in their opponents half, but a strong
backline, led by centrebacks' Francesco Sinopoli and Kyle Watson, restricted the hosts to no shots
on target until late in the first half.

After a back-and-forth battle, Woodbridge would get the go-ahead goal after striker Mathew Santos (30')
fired a low shot from 25 yards out that found the bottom right corner past the outstretched keeper.

Two minutes later, the Strikers pounced on an interception near the half-way line, quickly got past
Masters' high line, and found forward Emmanuel Issac (32'), who slotted home the second goal of the match.

After a quick chat in the dressing room, Masters looked to begin the second half on the front foot.

Masters would get their best chance to cut the Strikers' lead in half in the 63rd minute, as a Woodbridge
player was called for a handball inside the box.

The home side lined up for the penalty, only to be denied by the quick reflexes and strength
of Woodbridge keeper Roberto Stillo.

Even though the scoreline showed Woodbridge in front, Masters would limit their opponent's chances
in the second half, as they pressed deep and kept a strong shape.

When the final whistle blew, it was Woodbridge that ended up on top, earning their sixth win of the season.

With the win, the Strikers improve to 6-2-2 (20 points) and sit two points behind the three way tie in first place.

Masters FA will look to bounce back on July 28 (3:30 p.m.) as they travel to take on Ottawa South United
at Quinns Point, Ottawa.

As for Woodbridge, they will host rivals Vaughan Azzurri on July 29 (7:00 p.m.) at Vaughan Grove, Woodbridge.
