Attendance was about 70 at this domed facility. I had planned on coming here earlier in the season but a storm
on Friday May 4th damaged the structure--not the roof but inside knocking down some light fixtures. That knocked out that
weekend's game and at least one on a subsequent weekend was turned into a road game. I couldn't see any remaining
damage tonight.

One quirk of an indoor stadium is the chance of skying a ball into the roof. I can't be sure that happened but a few times
the ball hit a 'clothesline' about 15 feet up which was how they could partition the field into three for smaller games.

This was a new structure not appearing on Google maps. I kept seeing another dome and map references. It was for the
Whitby Iroquis Soccer Dome. I had the idea it was the same place but they had just changed the name to be politically
correct. Nope there are now two domes on each side of a parking lot. Change rooms and washrooms were in the
Donald A Wilson High School on another side of the parking lot.

I opened an exit door before the game started to go to the school and then a second door before the first one closed
and it was like an airplane door opened midflight as the pressure blew a garbage can over and was sucking it out the
door. I could shut one door but not quite reach the other. Finally a game crew staff member came out through the
revolving door (I should have used that) and was able to shut the second door.

The game started out with two quick goals but was scoreless the rest of the way. There was a chance for Darby early
in the second half when the Aurora goalie picked up a backpass. The referee called a freekick from the 17 yard line.
I've seen these plays before with eleven defenders standing near the goal line there's not much chance to score.
After a lot of posturing, Darby's Raphael Reynolds rolled the ball between the legs of Michael Marioaro who had bent over
to feign that he'd reposition the ball yet again. Le Rohne Young was waiting to blast the ball but he hit it into
the wall--but just a bit further along those ten players lined up for Aurora.

The result help neither team who are desparately trying to climb up in the playoff race. With a full slate of games
this weekend, both teams should drop further behind.
