A two goal performance from striker Justin Stoddart (9',44') is all Sigma FC needed to keep their
undefeated season going, as they beat Toronto Skillz 2-0 in Matchweek Seven.

The home side, Sigma FC, played the majority of the match in a 4-1-4-1, with captain Giulano Frano
as the holding midfielder and a strong attacking midfield with the likes of Tajon Buchanan, Noah Jensen,
Faisal Ghaffur and Kadell Thomas constantly causing problems for the Skillz backline.

Stoddart's first of the match came off a run down the left wing in the ninth minute, as he cut inside
and slotted it under the rushing Skillz keeper.

For the majority of the first half, Toronto Skillz looked to exploit the right wing. Since they lined
up in 3-5-2, they had speed down the flanks and hoped they could get a quick counter and force a tying goal.

Toronto winger Vithunan Sivakumar was kept busy in the first 45 minutes, taking on defenders in hopes
he could spring through on goal.

Right before the half-time whistle, Stoddart earned his second as he took a shot from the top of the box
in front of traffic and fooled the Skillz keeper to make it 2-0 Sigma.

Sigma sub Daniel Jodah almost made it 3-0 in the 69th minute off a free-kick, but his shot went over
the wall and just missed the top of the goal.

Skillz keeper Viktor Lyczywek was busy this afternoon, as he was forced to make multiple saves to try
and get his team back into this match.

Lyczywek came out big in the 75th, when he denied a shot from the right side of the six yard box to make
his fourth save of the day.

Even though they held the majority of possession, Sigma was only able to get five shots on target
and kept the ball consistently near the 25 yard area.

Toronto Skillz would force the ball in Sigma’s defensive third in the last five minutes of play,
however it wasn't enough for them to spark a comeback.

With the win, Sigma improve to 4-0-1 (13 points) on the season and continue to be a strong defensive side,
as they have only given up one goal in five matches so far.

Up next for Sigma FC will be a League1 Cup third round matchup against FC London on June 22 (9:00 p.m.)
at Hershey Centre 1.

As for Toronto Skillz, they will have a lenghty break and will get back to league play on July 8 (5:00 p.m.)
when they take on Darby FC at Birchmount Stadium.
