Woodbridge Declaws Sanjaxx With 4-0 Result At Monarch Park 06/04/2018, 3:45pm EDT By Jonathan Cheng Woodbridge Strikers scored four goals in a dominating 4-0 victory over Sanjaxx Lions at Monarch Park on Sunday. Stefano Voci (8') slid the ball to the goalkeeper's far post to open the scoring. Woodbridge didn't let off the gas pedal, striking gold again when Emmanuel Issac (35') hit a low shot into the opposite corner for the second of the game. A sneaky quick free-kick allowed space for a cross into the box, and Tyrell Rayne (65') finished the play with a header for the third goal of the match. A penalty in added time gave Josha Paredes-Procter (90' + 5) his third goal of the season and the fourth goal for Woodbridge in the match. Sanjaxx were trapped in their own half for most of the game. Pressure from Woodbridge forced them to try to bypass the midfield with long balls to the wing, but no goals came out of it. Woodbridge controlled possession, and they were not afraid to build attacks from the backline. Sanjaxx Lions (1-3-0) end matchweek five in 13th place with three points and a -3 goal differential (3 GF, 6 GA). Sanjaxx take on the scoring powerhouse Sigma FC at the Hershey Centre on Saturday, June 9 (4:00 p.m.). Woodbridge Strikers (2-1-2) are in fourth place with eight points and a +7 goal differential (10 GF, 3 GA). Woodbridge hosts Toronto Skillz FC at Vaughan Grove on Sunday, June 10 (7:00 p.m.).
