Darby FC made it difficult, but a Parker Seymour goal (50’), followed by a 90th minute
James Pucci winner helped FC London move on to the next round of the League 1 Ontario cup.

Darby FC had an early chance in the sixth minute with a free kick just outside the 18-yard box,
but the shot was parried over the bar by FC London keeper Anthony Sokalski.

FC London came close just six minutes later but sent a shot sailing high and wide. As the game
grew older, tempers started to flare out of frustration, with neither team able to execute
in the final 18 yards.

It took 15 minutes for another meaningful shot to come, with Darby winger Dylan Campbell
breaking down the right side and nearly sneaking a shot under Sokalski’s arms in the 36th minute.
Campbell came close again in the 42nd minute with a header, but it went wide of the goal.

Darby FC had the better chances in the first, but couldn’t quite find the back of the net.
Jemuel Paul and Steven Furlano were called upon from the bench to start the second half.

The changes, however, wouldn't make much of a difference, as five minutes later, a 4-on-1
FC London counter resulted in a beautiful shot from Parker Seymour (50’) just outside the box,
making it 1-0 for London.

The game was a rather rough from there on in, with stoppages in plays often killing both teams
attacks. Darby FC had a massive chance to tie things up in the 73rd minute, with a low cross
that couldn’t find a man in the box to slot home an open goal finish.

After that, FC London took control of the game. Benjamin Vyfschaft, who came on in the 65th
minute for Michael Sneddon, scuffed a huge chance in front of goal in the 89th to put
things away.

In stoppage time, Darby was caught pushing too far, as London won the ball back, sending
James Pucci (90') through with nobody but the keeper in his way. Pucci managed to slot
the shot home and secured the FC London a two-nil victory.

With the win, FC London advances to the 3rd round of the League1 Cup and will take on the winner
of Sanjaxx Lions vs Sigma FC.

Up next for London will be a matchup with Sigma on June 2 (4:00 p.m.) at Hershey Centre 1.

As for Darby, they will take on North Mississauga S.C on June 3 (3:00 p.m) at Hershey Centre 1.
