Milidrag Header In Dying Minutes Gets Windsor 1-1 Draw With Aurora 05/07/2018, 4:15pm EDT By Giulia Barile Despite the long rain delay, Windsor TFC and Aurora FC played to a 1-1 tie on Sunday afternoon in Windsor. The sun was shining bright at kickoff and Aurora came out hard from the opening whistle. A Windsor handball in the box in only the 8th minute saw an early penalty for the visitors. Aurora’s Rennie (9') stepped up to the spot and converted in the bottom left corner to give his team the 1-0 lead. Rennie is off to a great start this season as he already has three goals in his first two games. As the clouds started moving in, the play on the field was becoming more aggressive, leading to three Windsor yellow cards in the first half. The score remained 1-0 at halftime when the thunder and lightning arrived, delaying the game for approximately 90 minutes. When the game finally commenced once again, it was the home team that came out strong, holding much more of the possession and chances on goal. A minute from full-time, Windsor scored the tying goal when Carapau sent in a corner kick and Milidrag (89') finished it off with a great header into the top right corner. This was Milidrag’s first goal of the season. Not much time was added on and the game finished in a 1-1 draw, earning both teams a point. Aurora FC will now head home next week and play the Vaughan Azzurri on Sunday May 13. Kickoff is set for 4pm. Windsor TFC will play their first road game of the season next as they take on Sigma FC on Saturday May 12 at 4pm.
