A match that could have gone either way, with both teams conceding three goals. Cyrus Rollocks (14')
opened the scoring for Masters, but Aurora bounced back within five minutes of gameplay as Mehmi
scored his first career goal with Aurora.

Heading into the second half, Masters was the more assertive of the two sides, dominating possession
and creating chances, but Aurora's Adam Scanlon put on a performance, holding his ground.

Then, a minute before halftime, Rohan Ricketts (44') got a hold of rebound ball, blasting it into
the net and once again Aurora were trailing.

In the last twelve minutes of game-play, the score line flipped as Dylan Rennie (78', 82') scored
a brace for Aurora to have the lead for the first time in the match, sending the crowd into frenzy.

"You lay off the pedal a little bit and relax a little too much and this is what happens,"
said Masters head coach Rick Titus.

"What happened is we didn't have the sharpness that we needed to have, we produce some pretty
good soccer every now and then."

"It's a new field, out first game and I thought they put on a great performance," said Aurora
head coach Derek O’Keeffe.

"Unfortunate not to win, but credit to the team for getting a point in the first game. It was
a good experience out and most of our players tonight are youngster, and they held their own."

Masters will take it game by game this season and focus on playing better - "we will try to focus
on putting the chances away and keeping the other teams from scoring as many goals as they did,"
said Titus.

O'Keeffe emphasized how satisfied he was with his teams' performance.

"The way we approached the game in terms of our mindset, our attitude, our mentality, was second
to none and I just think we need to keep that going and we can be a very competitive
team this year."

Aurora FC will next play Windsor TFC on Sunday May 6 (2 p.m.)
at University of Windsor Stadium, Windsor.

Masters FA Saints will next play Oakville Blue Devils on Saturday May 12 (8 p.m.)
at L’Amoreaux, Scarborough.
