A brace of goals from Hilli Goldhar (11', 43'), and markers from Dominic Samuel (5'), Giuliano Frano (21')
and Kadell Thomas (40') combined well with a clean sheet from Sigma FC's Triston Henry to earn
the Mississauga academy a stunning 5-0 result over visitors Toronto FC III.

Sigma went into the match knowing that their title hopes had evaporated the night before, with west
division leaders Oakville Blue Devils clinching the division after a scoreless draw with
Woodbridge Strikers bagged the crucial points tally needed to exceed Sigma's maximum remaining
points available.

"The result last night between Oakville and Woodbridge didn't turn out in our favour, but it is something
we talked about after that game because we were training last night in preparation for this match,"
said Sigma head coach, Bobby Smyrniotis.

"We wanted to finish off strong. We knew we had six points to be gained and we wanted to be sure
we gained those six points. And especially after the disappointment of seeing the result not go
in our favour, we just wanted to show that our mentality is very good and our players are very
professional in their approach to things. That is what we asked for today and I think the guys did
a great job of it."

The one-sided loss was the worst that a high-flying and talented Toronto FC III side had experienced
over their 2017 campaign.

"You can call it a bad day at the office, but I think the way Sigma came out in the first half they
clearly had a point to prove," said Toronto FC III head coach, Danny Dichio.

"We knew that they were an older team, an experienced team, but in the first half it was quite
literally men against boys. They were more committed and they punished our mistakes. When you play
against a good team and make errors, you get punished."

"But the positives, we made some subs in the second half and we kept faith with what we had to do
and look to walk out of here with our heads at least held half-high because it could have got
a lot worse than what it was," he added.

"We steadied the ship a little bit, and I thought the second half was much better, but the first
half was not good enough."

Sigma FC's pipeline of high level players to top NCAA and professional programs has gained great
attention since graduate Cyle Larin has made waves on the international and professional stages
with CMNT and Orlando City, so a two goal night from young Hilli Goldhard earned some
extra attention.

"Goldhar is one of those up-and-coming players in our academy, who got his debut against
Woodbridge earlier in the year," said Smyrniotis.

"For a couple reasons, nagging injuries and so on, he didn't get some playing time in the
last few games, but he is a player we really believe in and today we got out of him exactly
what we expect to get. We're very happy with him and this is obviously good for his confidence
as he carries forward growing as a player."

Sigma FC will next play Windsor TFC Stars on October 7 at Hershey Centre Indoor, Mississauga.

Toronto FC III will next play Sanjaxx Lions on October 8 at Monarch Park, Toronto.
