In what the latest edition of the Southern Ontario derby, Windsor TFC Stars beat FC London 3-2
after Michael Pio (9'), Paul Di Meo (28') and Vladimir Zoksimovski (90') put away the home side's
chances and ended their 2017 home fixture list on a high note.

"I have seen it coming for the last few weeks," said Windsor head coach, Zibby Piatkiewicz.
"It is a progression and at the same time it is a transition, with the young kids playing."

"If you look at the scores from the last few games, it didn't start well at all but as the kids
get used to it, get used to the speed, get used to playing League1... I said right from the beginning,
it's about getting experience."

"Today the gameplan was to stay back and just counter and it worked," he added. "I'm glad it did!
We let them play the ball and just waited for the right opportunity and it came."

Ben Vyfschaft (20') and Sandro Rajkovic (42') scored in the first half for London, setting
up a tense second frame that was only decided with a last minute goal.

"We had chances and didn't use them," said London assistant coach, Eddie Schmidt. "Windsor had
a few chances and used all of them."

"You can play different styles of this game," continued Schmidt. "You can stay around your box
and wait for the moments or you can take the ball and try to find a way yourself, and this
is what we are trying to teach the young guys that we have today."

"Controlling the game has some risk, especially when it means you must have possession high
up the field. Of course you need to have cover for that and we are not close to where we need
to be in that aspect."

"I think we had more opportunities today than almost any other game this season and it is hard
to know what to say," he concluded.

"We also need to win our final home game of the season because our supporters have been great
all year. So many people come out to the games to help and I just hope we can give them a show
and score all the goals that we didn't score today."

Windsor TFC Stars will next play Sigma FC on October 7 at Hershey Centre Indoor, Mississauga.

FC London will next play Pro Stars FC on October 6 at Marconi Club, London.
