September 24, 2017 League 1 Ontario--Match Recap: North Mississauga SC vs Toronto FC III (from League 1 Ontario)
Match Recap: North Mississauga SC 1 - 5 Toronto FC III 09/24/2017, 9:30pm EDT By League1 Ontario staff A second half rally from Toronto FC III provided the visitors a breakthrough as Luca Petrasso (22', 65', 81', 85') scored four and Zakaria Abdi (90') scored one to take the Junior Reds to a 5-1 defeat of North Mississauga SC. "I think a lot of credit has to be given to North Mississauga and their coaching staff," said TFC III head coach, Danny Dichio. "They have improved the team a lot and they are another young team like us. They get the ball down and try to play football the right way so we knew it was going to be a difficult game for us tonight." "We had a gameplan and for the majority of the match we stuck to it," he added. "I'm just pleased that we showed a bit of efficiency in the second half with the chances we created and I was extra pleased with the spark that the substitutes provided tonight." Jonathan Jebbison (44') scored the lone goal for North Miss on a night when the result was decided in a crucial twenty minute period following half-time. "The first half we were very respectful to the opponent and we dropped back," said North Miss assistant coach, Volen Parashkevov. "We appeared to be kind of scared of them and they scored after we dropped so deep. We had a chance though on their mistake and we tied 1-1 going into half-time." "The first fifteen minutes of the second half we played very well and created a lot of chances to score," he added. Unfortunately we couldn't finish and after about the hour mark they counter-attacked and they scored the second goal in a critical mental moment for us." "I think our boys continued to fight but after the third goal went in they stopped playing. Mentally they broke us after the second and third goals." North Mississauga SC will next play Sigma FC on September 29 at Hershey Centre, Mississauga. Toronto FC III will next play Pro Stars FC on September 30 at Avondale Stadium, Brampton.
