Kadell Thomas (19', 54', 56', 90') put away four goals to help secure a 7-0 win for Sigma FC over
Sanjaxx Lions that keeps the Mississauga academy in the hunt for the west division title.

"Anytime you score seven goals in a game and get three points you are obviously going to be happy
with it," said Sigma FC head coach, Bobby Smyrniotis.

"We knew from the beginning that we were going to have to show a lot of energy in the first fifteen
or twenty minutes because it is an opponent that, the longer they stay in the game, can do some
damage to you. We did our job and are happy with the three points. We wait now to see what happens
on top of us in the standings."

Giuliano Frano (8'), Daniel Jodah (34') and David Velastegui (36') added single goals each to the
one-sided result, while Sigma keepers Triston Henry (80 minutes) and Baj Mann (10 minutes) shared
the clean sheet.

Sanjaxx assistant coach Devon Porter said the loss had much to do with his team's inability
to finish their chances on goal, but added that the downtown Toronto based academy was more
interested in the progress of individual talents than results at this stage of the season.

"I wouldn't say this was a devastating result," he said. "Although the opposition scored seven
goals, we are working with a young group and developing them to move forward. If you look
at the game, if we took our chances the game would probably have finished 7-5."

"The kids played well and I'm happy. It is not about the result or winning the league, the aim
at Sanjaxx is to develop players so they can get out of here with university scholarships
or a professional contract. If we can do that, it's a job well done."

"Stefan [Nikolic] is going on Tuesday to Italy to play in the third division," he added. "This
is his aim, and this is our aim - to help them move forward."

Sigma remain six points back of west division leaders, Oakville Blue Devils, with three matches
remaining. Sigma need Oakville to manage no more than three points in their final two matches,
while Sigma must win all three of their matches, to force a single-match playoff for the west
division title.

"We're obviously going for first place still but we need some help with Oakville losing some
points," said Smyrniotis.

"We just keep being steady with one game at a time and next we have North Mississauga next
Friday. We want to take three points each time and we have three games left. Our job is to
get the maximum nine points and at the end we will see where that takes us."

Sigma FC will next play North Mississauga SC on September 29 at Hershey Centre, Mississauga.

Sanjaxx Lions will next play Oakville Blue Devils on October 1 at Monarch Park, Toronto.
