Academy Collegiate Wrap-up: Week 1

Introducing the Toronto FC Academy collegiate wrap-up where we will be keeping tabs on the Academy 
graduates competing for collegiate programs across the continent. There are currently 15 grads 
lacing them up in both the NCAA and U Sports. Here is the inaugural wrap-up:

NCAA

Ethan Beckford – Freshman – Penn State University
The freshman forward has made three starts for the Nittany Lions registering four shots, 
(two on target). Penn State is 1-1-2 so far this season.

Dante Morrissette – Freshman – Northeastern
The freshman defender has started all four games this season. Northeastern has started the 
season 1-3-0 but their one victory came over 12th ranked UMass Lowell.

Kota Sakurai – Freshman – Dartmouth College
Sakurai has made one appearance for the Big Green this season. The defending Ivy League Champions 
have started the year 1-2-0.

Brogan Engbers – Freshman – Liberty University
The first year ‘keeper has yet to make an appearance for the 3-1-0 flames.

Malik Smith – Freshman – Grand Canyon University
The freshman defender has made three appearances (two starts). GCU has started 
the season 1-4-0.

Thomas Mickoski – Sophomore – St John’s University
The midfielder/defender has made two appearances for the Red Storm. St John’s is 2-2-1 
on the young season.

Leonard Sohn – Sophomore – Manhattan College
The second year defender has made four appearances, making two starts. The Jaspers 
are 2-2-0 this season.

Kevon Black – Senior – Duke University
The defender has made three appearances for the 4-0-0 Blue Devils.

Michael Marcantognini – Senior – Michigan State University
The midfielder has made three starts for the Spartans registering three shots on target. 
The Spartans have started the season a perfect 5-0-0.

Eli Roubos – Senior – Florida Gulf Coast University
Roubos has made four starts for the 1-3-0 Eagle.

U Sports

Robert Boskovic – Sophomore – Ryerson University
The 2016 OUA Rookie of the year has continued where he left off last season with 
five starts for the OUA co-east leading Rams. Boskovic has scored a goal as the 
Rams have started the season undefeated at 5-0-1.

Andrew Dias – Sophomore – Ryerson University
The defender has started three games and has made five appearances for the Rams. 
Dias has added in a goal and an assist thus far for the 7th ranked Rams.

Nikola Stakic – Sophomore – University of Toronto
Stakic has started all six games for the co-east leading Varsity Blues. The defender 
has registered two goals and an assist as U of T has started the season 5-0-1.
 
Nicholas Osorio – Freshman – University of Toronto
The freshman midfielder has made four starts for the third ranked Varsity Blues.   

Marko Mandekic – Freshman – University of Toronto 
The midfielder has started all six games for the Varsity Blues scoring once.
