Emmanuel Issac (44') and Adrian Gallo (89') scored goals in the last minute of either half,
while Quillan Roberts kept a clean sheet, to give Woodbridge Strikers a 2-0 win over hosts
Durham United FA.

"I thought we played one of our best first halves of the season," said Woodbridge head coach,
Peter Pinizzotto.

"We were missing a lot of guys because they went back to school and so we had a couple very
young players playing tonight. The guys that came in did very well. The score could have been
very different at half-time, we missed a few chances, but I'm really happy because we played
against a good, tough team."

"In the first half I thought we dominated possession and we had pace down the sides and the
players up top were holding the ball well. I thought overall it was one of the best,
most disciplined games that we've had."

Durham head coach Sanford Carabin felt his team showed some rust from two weeks of inaction,
and lamented a poor start to the match. To make matters worse, midfielder Taylor Lord
was dismissed after two cautions and Durham were forced to attempt to comeback with only
ten players.

"We didn't play nearly as well as we could have," he said. "It's probably one of our poorest
performances of the year."

"The first forty-five minutes we were second to every ball. We struggled to keep the ball,
we struggled to get it back, it was just one of those games where it seemed that too many
players were off sync."

"In fact when we got down to ten men, I thought the team played much better. I don't know
if that is how it should be, but the sending off galvanized us and we actually created far
more chances with a man down than we did with a full squad."

"Tonight just wasn't our night," he concluded.

"In the second half we could have scored three or four but we just didn't finish,
and in this game if you don't finish those chances you are going to lose."

Woodbridge remain locked in a battle with rivals Vaughan Azzurri at the top of the men's
east division table with only four matches left to play.

Durham United FA will next play OSU Force on September 16 at Terry Fox South, Ottawa.

Woodbridge Strikers will next play Toronto Skillz on September 17 at Vaughan Grove, Woodbridge.
