August 28, 2017 League 1 Ontario--Match Recap: Pro Stars FC vs Sanjaxx Lions (from League 1 Ontario)
Match Recap: Pro Stars FC 0 - 1 Sanjaxx Lions 08/28/2017, 12:15am EDT By League1 Ontario staff Quinn Kirkendall (82') scored and Nuno Manuel Gil Goncalves kept a clean sheet as Sanjaxx Lions got their third win of the season following a 1-0 scoreline over winless visitors, Pro Stars Academy. "We came out to bring a disciplined game because we know what Pro Stars is going to bring," said Sanjaxx assistant coach, Devon Porter. "They came right at us." "The two teams had good chances, but we mainly wasted our chances," he added. "We failed to defend the way we should defend but all in all we got the goal and won and I think that matters." Pro Stars head coach Indrit Fortuzi said his team had the opportunities to score and even win the game, but did not take them. Despite the loss, he found many positives in the Pro Stars performance. "What I saw was we were good in the game but I saw what I saw every game and it was that we had many chances and still didn't score. We need goals to boost the psychology of the team and of course to gain points." "However, what was good was that we pressed the team higher, we played the ball, and we defended in the midfield," he added. "We had more possession of the ball but we are missing the last passes. This is the big problem for us. We had chances and had to score but the forward players need to work more on what they are doing in front of the goal, especially inside the six yard box." Pro Stars FC will next play Oakville Blue Devils on September 10 at Bronte, Oakville. Sanjaxx Lions will next play North Mississauga Panthers on September 10 at Monarch Park, Toronto.
