Woodbridge Strikers stayed top of the men's east division on Matchweek 14 after a 0-0 duel with
Toronto FC III in front of 500 supporters at Vaughan Grove, Woodbridge.

"It went much better than our last game, that is for sure," said Woodbridge head coach,
Peter Pinizzotto.

"I thought it was a good game for both teams."

"Anytime you play TFC you play against a young team, fit and well-organized, but I thought our
boys played really well. One of our better games of the season. We created two great chances
in the first half, a few more in the second half, but again when you get those chances you have
to take advantage. What I liked at least today is we were fighting and we created enough chances
to win the game but at the end of the day I have to be happy with the way the boys played."

Clean sheets for Quillan Roberts and Gianluca Catalano marked an excellent day for the defensive
lines of both teams, and earned the praise of both sets of technical staff.

"We had a number of players that had excellent games tonight but anytime you don't give up any
goals I think it is the whole team that played well," said Pinizzotto.

"There were a few guys that stood out but overall it was a real team effort."

"I think defensively we looked really strong," said TFC III head coach, Danny Dichio.

"Young Gigi [Catalano] held really firm in the back. Riley Ferrazzo came in today at rightback
and did a stellar job. Rocco Romeo and Nikola Stakic did very well for us. I thought we looked
very solid defensively today and protected the goal well."

Woodbridge heads into a difficult phase of the season when they will play arch-rivals
Vaughan Azzurri in a back to back schedule that features the L1 Cup Final and then a league match
that could go some distance in determining the east division champions.

"Our next game is a Cup game with Vaughan and then again against them in the league,"
confirmed Pinizzotto.

"We are coming into a stretch where there are a lot of tough games, but I think the boys respond
well to top competition and I think we will be ready."

Woodbridge Strikers will next play Vaughan Azzurri on August 6 in the L1 Cup Final
at Ontario Soccer Centre, Vaughan.

Toronto FC III will next play OSU Force on August 5 at Terry Fox South, Ottawa.
