Opponents And Dates Announced For 2017 League1 Ontario Men's And Women's All-Star Games

League1 Ontario has announced the date, opponents and venues for the Men's 
and Women's 2017 All-Star games.

The League1 Ontario Men’s All-Stars will take on the 
Première Ligue de Soccer du Québec All-Stars (PLSQ) on July 19 at the 
Ontario Soccer Centre Stadium. Kick-off is at 7:30 p.m.

The League1 Ontario Women’s All-Stars will play Ontario Soccer's U-18 Womens 
Canada Games squad, where the best-of-the-best of female soccer talent from 
around the province will be showcased July 25 at the Ontario Soccer Centre Stadium. 
Kick-off is at 7:30 p.m.

The League1 Ontario All-Star Games serve as another opportunity for Ontario's 
best athletes to showcase their talents to a wider audience.

"League1 Ontario continues to be one of the best platforms for helping players 
get to the next level in their careers," said Dino Rossi, League1 Ontario commissioner.

"The opportunity to play off against our provincial rivals is another chance 
to see Ontario's best players, taking on the best competition, in an environment 
that would put a spotlight on Canada's talent."

League1 Ontario All Stars will be selected via voting conducted amongst team 
head coaches and league officials. The League1 All Star rosters, as well as the 
coaching staff appointed to lead these teams, will be announced on July 6 for 
the men and July 11 for the women, along with more event information.

For Ontario's U-18 Women’s team, this competition will serve as a final send-off 
event before heading to Winnipeg, Manitoba for the 2017 Canada Summer Games 
taking place July 29-August 4.  

"This will be a good test for our Canada Games squad," said Bryan Rosenfeld, 
Ontario Soccer Manager of High Performance.

"With some of our players already in League1 Ontario for club competition, 
there will be some familiar faces on either side of the pitch and we expect 
to see a lot out of both squads."
