It was a stalemate between Windsor TFC and Toronto FC III on Matchweek Seven after
the season's first edition of the "TFC derby" ended in a 0-0 final on a hot
and muggy afternoon.

"It was hard to adjust to the weather, that played a really big part of it,"
said Windsor head coach, Zibby Piatkiewicz. "The heat was just unbelieveable.
I'll take the tie in weather like this."

"We had to take water breaks to cool them down a little bit. We made one substitution
at half to help a little bit and that actually made a big difference in the game
because that gave us more chances to go forward and Pablo [Ortiz] made the difference."

"As you can see I had a lot of young kids on the bench so I'm going to start using them.
It's nice to see that I can start using the academy players, they are our future
and I have to use them."

"We have to find a better way of move forward quicker and to shoot more often,"
he added. "Basically we don't have a lot of shots on target."

Keepers Kyle Vizarakis (Windsor) and Canada U17's Gianluca Catalano (TFC III) kept
clean sheets on a day when there was very little to get excited about, aside from
the defensive solidity from both sides.

"Obviously the conditions had an effect on the game today for both teams," said
TFC III head coach, Danny Dichio.

"I think it was played at a little bit slower pace than a game between us would
normally be played, but I thought we adjusted well to the conditions and just needed
to improve in the final third a little bit."

"Defensively we were very sound today, with the two young boys at the back, our
block was very organized, but it was just in that final third where we were rushing
it just a little bit and going directly to goal instead of being a little
more patience."

"They are a really young group, the goalkeeper and the two centre-backs are 16 years
old so we have to keep pushing them to get better all the time," he added.

"They are very coachable, they are willing to learn and they have a couple more
experienced players - 17 and 18 - in our team that help them a lot.
They're a good group and I thought we defended well as a group today, not only
the defensive line but as a whole, as a team. I asked them to do that."

"Still, it's a missed opportunity, I told them. It was a game we could have won,
should have won, but give credit to Windsor. They held in there and kept trying
to play. They are a team that like to play football the correct way, and I like that.
I give a lot of credit to them as well."

Windsor TFC will next play Woodbridge Strikers on June 16
at University of Windsor Stadium, Windsor.

Toronto FC III will next play North Mississauga Panthers in the second round
of the L1 Cup on June 14 at Hershey Centre.
