Koosha Nazemi (44', 74') scored one on either side of the half-time break to guide home
side North Toronto Nitros past Masters FA Saints on Sunday with a final 2-1 scoreline.

"We were up 1-0 and they came back to 1-1 and I think it was good for the guys to show
some resolve and come back to score even though we were getting pressed a little bit,"
said North Toronto assistant coach, Ilya Orlov.

"We had a couple chances and took the one that we had, and as you said it was good character
from the players to not give up and just keep fighting."

The Nitros made few substitutions in the match, preferring to go with a lineup that has been
working for them in recent weeks.

"We went with a similar group as last week that got us the win against Vaughan," agreed Orlov.

"Even though we conceded I think we still thought the players on the field could do the job
for us. We made some changes, but we didn't use all of our subs. We freshened up the midfield
and just made sure we had defensive cover in the midfield. Up top we felt that the players
that were in the game were doing a good job so we didn't see any reason to change them."

Jose De Sousa (56') entered the match late for Masters, and levelled the scoreline with
a tidy chip.

"There is a prevailing theme on the team right now where we will fight for each other,
but the quality wasn't as good as it should have been today," said Masters head coach,
Rick Titus.

"We had some late arrivals today, which kind of changed our plans for the game, but we'll
be sure to straighten that out on Tuesday."

Nitros were not to be denied however, and it was Nazemi to save the day and ensure the club
recorded their second straight home win in as many weeks.

"Koosha usually plays at right back, but that last few games he has been playing further forward
on the right side and last week he had a good game," said Orlov.

"This week he scored two goals and those two obviously won us the game. He played well today
and he was the difference, so we're happy with him playing a little higher up the field.
Glad it worked out."

North Toronto Nitros will next play Durham United FA on Sunday June 4 at Varsity Stadium, Toronto.

Masters FA Saints will next play Toronto Skillz on Saturday June 3 at L'Amoreaux, Scarborough.
