A Justin Stoddart (43', 57') brace led Sigma to a 4-1 win over Pro Stars in Matchweek Three
and a perfect 3-0-0 record to begin their 2017 season.

Pro Stars' David Bain (86') pulled one back late in the game when the home side was forced
to open up from a primarily defensive posture, and seek goals to equalize.

"Yes, it was interesting," said Sigma head coach, Bobby Smyrniotis.

"We thought that was an approach they may take so we wanted to provide a lot of overloads
especially on the outsides. It worked at moments although this surface was very quick and
when the balls were played through they were skipping and moving quicker. It took our guys
a little time to adjust but obviously when you get a couple goals right before the half
it opens things up going into the second half."

"I'm very happy with the effort my boys put in during the first thirty-five to forty
minutes," said Pro Stars coach, Stiven Mikhail.

"But we are very aware of what Sigma is capable of and we did come out with a game-plan
of being very defensive. It's important for the boys to see the quality that they are
up against and we did get one back today, so we know we have the ability to score against
the best team in this league. We'll carry on from that."

Sigma's Eji Mrabure (90' + 1') removed any hope of a late comeback with his stoppage
time goal, but Smyrniotis felt his players were a bit casual in their approach and
should have decided the outcome earlier.

"I was a little disappointed by our approach after half, I thought we were flat," he said.

"It's one thing that we spoke about with them during the break, that it was great that
they scored two but that the first fifteen minutes in the second half is crucial
to whether or not the other team can come back into the game."

"If we look at the overall, we have missed maybe ten very good chances to score.
If we were a little more clinical today, we would have taken care of the game way
earlier than it was taken care of."
