Recap

Two weeks before their season opener in St. Louis, Fury FC displayed a convincing performance
Friday afternoon at the University of Ottawa, grabbing a 4-2 win against a solid
League1 Ontario side.

Sito Seoane led Ottawa’s offence with a pair of goals, while Ryan Williams – from the
penalty spot – and Steevan Dos Santos completed the scoring for Fury FC. Tucker Hume
also had a strong performance, setting up two goals for his club.

Ottawa dominated the first half, possessing the ball well, creating several dangerous
scoring chances and using their speed to produce several counter attacks. It all paid
off in the 15th minute when Seoane scored his first of the game after a nice link
up with Williams on the left flank.

Ten minutes before halftime, Fury FC doubled their lead on a penalty kick. Hume was
brought down in the box and Williams made no mistake converting the spot kick giving
Ottawa a 2-0 advantage through the opening 45 minutes.

Ottawa added a third goal in the 61st minute when Gerardo Bruna sent a brilliant 50-yard
through ball to spring Seaone on a breakaway. The American-born Spaniard kept his
composure and scored his second of the game giving his team a 3-0 lead.

The opposition would crawl back into the game scoring two goals in less than 15 minutes,
thanks to Simon Triantafillou and Tyrell Ryane, cutting Ottawa’s lead to one goal.

The League1 Ontario All-Star Team included former FC Montreal player, Johnny Grant,
former Seattle Sounders 2 and Whitecaps FC 2 player Giuliano Frano and former
Queens Park Rangers’ and Toronto FC’s youth teams player Dylan Carreiro.

Dos Santos rounded out the scoring for Fury FC in the 86th minute after a great cross
from Hume. Fury FC will play their final preseason match (a closed door friendly)
against the Montreal Impact next Friday, March 24, in Montreal.

What are they saying?
Fury FC GM and Head Coach, Paul Dalglish:
“We’re happy to get back to winning ways. Our first half we were excellent,
and in the second half, just a little bit like last week, we saw a little bit of fatigue,
which is normal since a lot of our guys were playing their first full 90-minute game.
But overall, it was nice to score goals, as we were more direct today. We’re very
pleased with the amount of attacking opportunities we had today and scoring four
goals is good for our confidence.”

Fury FC forward, Sito Seoane:
“The team showed good character today and we did what we’ve been working on training
all week, and it always feels good to score four goals. Every time I score goals
and it helps the team I’m happy, plus it gives me more confidence going forward.”
