Seoane Leads Fury FC to Victory By USLSoccer.com Staff, 03/17/17, 7:46PM EDT Spanish striker scores twice in 4-2 victory against League1 Ontario All-Stars OTTAWA – Sito Seoane scored a pair of goals as Ottawa Fury FC took a 4-2 victory against the League1 Ontario All-Stars on Friday afternoon at the University of Ottawa. Ryan Williams and Steevan Dos Santos also found the net for Fury FC as it continued its build-up to its 2017 USL regular season opener against Saint Louis FC on April 1. “We’re happy to get back to winning ways,” said Fury FC Head Coach Paul Dalglish. “Our first half we were excellent, and in the second half, just a little bit like last week, we saw a little bit of fatigue, which is normal since a lot of our guys were playing their first full 90-minute game. But overall, it was nice to score goals, as we were more direct today. We’re very pleased with the amount of attacking opportunities we had today and scoring four goals is good for our confidence.” Ottawa dominated the first half, possessing the ball well, and created several dangerous scoring chances as the side used its speed to produce several counter-attacks. The control of the game paid off in the 15th minute when Seoane scored his first after a nice link-up with Williams on the left flank. Ten minutes before halftime Fury FC doubled its lead on a penalty kick after Tucker Hume was brought down in the penalty area. Williams made no mistake, converting the spot kick to give Ottawa a 2-0 advantage at the break. Ottawa added a third goal in the 61st minute when Gerardo Bruna sent a brilliant 50-yard through-ball that sprang Seaone on a breakaway. The Spanish-born striker kept his composure and scored his second of the game to give Fury FC a 3-0 lead. League1 Ontario’s squad got back into the game as it scored two goals in less than 15 minutes. Goals by Simon Triantafillou (Sigma FC) and Tyrell Rayne (Master’s Futbol) cut Ottawa’s lead to one. A pair of former USL players saw action for the side, with Johnny Grant and Giuliano Frano both in the side. Former Queens Park Rangers and Toronto FC Academy player Dylan Carreiro also saw action in the contest. Dos Santos ensured Fury FC’s victory with four minutes to go, however as he rounded out the scoring after a great cross from Hume. “The team showed good character today and we did what we’ve been working on training all week, and it always feels good to score four goals,” said Seoane. “Every time I score goals and it helps the team I’m happy, plus it gives me more confidence going forward.”
