Revenge is sweet for hat trick hero.

from Sports Report Service

MONTREAL--Darren Tilley, who started the A-League season with the Toronto Lynx, scored three goals to help the Montreal Impact eliminate his former teammates from the Northeast Division playoffs with a 4-0 win. A crowd of 4,138 was on hand at Claude Robillard Stadium to see the Impact complete a two-game sweep of the semifinal series.

Montreal will meet Long Island in the best-of-three Division Final.

Bill Sedgewick, who scored Montreal's fourth goal with seconds remaining in the first half, was taken down in the penalty area to set up the game-winning goal. Tilley converted the penalty kick in the 17th minute.

In the 25th minute, Tilley scored again on the third of a series of headers that also included Lloyd Barker and Sedgewick. Barely a minute later, Giuliano Oliveiro stole the ball at midfield and broke in on goal with Tilley. The pair worked a give-and-go that left Tilley with an open shot from 12 yards.

Sedgewick finished off the scoring with an opportunistic tally. Defender Bruno Xavier sent a Toronto clearing attempt back into the penalty area. The ball hit Sedgewick on the foot, popping up and over Lynx goalie Joe Ciaravino.
