Here are the results of the CPSL game between Toronto Olympians and North York Astros played at Birchmount Stadium in Scarborough at 8:15pm. This was the first game of the two game aggregate semi-final of Cup play.

Attendance was about 250 people. These late goals likely killed off any chance of the Astros coming back in the second game of this semi-final playoff because of the total goal aggregate. Olympians haven't lost a game this year so it seems unlikely they'll lose one by five!
The scoreboard at Birchmount Stadium is now a write off with nothing working except the football quarters. That's ok if one team scores only up to four goals and the other team doesn't get on the board...hey just like tonight! Plans for this stadium hosting half of the Concacaf Women's World Cup qualifying games at the end of the month have been changed to exclude this stadium because the field conditions didn't measure up (?) but maybe this is a reason. Turf looked fine to me. Two games a day for a week will really chew up Etobicoke Centennial Stadium.
Olympians goalie Lucas Papaconstantinou has left the team not to return to Darlington of the English 3rd Division (where he played over the 1997-1998 season) but for an American dental college.
