Attendance was about 60 people. This playing field is north of the Pearson Airport and the planes landing are really close to the ground when they fly over just off to the south. The field has been fenced off but fans can watch from the north side end without paying. Woods are on the east and south side. There is no scoreboard and portable small segment bleechers are on the west sideline. For much of the night, fans, players and officials were swatting mosquitos!
I was looking forward to this game as Toronto Olympians were the only team in the eight team league I hadn't seen this year. I'd heard a lot about this team of Southern Ontario superstars. Many of these players I've seen play last year on other teams. Let's see: Ian Carter, Peyvand Mossavat, and Lei Gong from Toronto Lynx of the A-League, Paul Moore, Gus Kouzmanis and Chris Handsor of league champion Toronto Supra of the CNSL league. Also on the team are Canadians Eddy Berdusco and Dino Lopez from Milwaukee Rampage of the A-League championship team and Loukas Papaconstantinou of Darlington FC of the English 3rd Division.
Olympians had beat Mississauga 8-1 three weeks earlier and are the only undefeated team in six league and cup games. Mississauga has now won only one of their eight games this year. I was expecting another big score but the surprize was the turning point when Mississauga could not equalize on the 19th minute penalty kick.
