Ryan Giovannini joins York United FC Academy for the 2025 League1 Ontario season

York United FC Academy is proud to announce the signing of Ryan Giovannini, a player who strengthens the squad
as preparations continue for a historic season in the League1 Ontario Championship Division.
After being identified by the York United scouting staff, Ryan was given the opportunity to join the Academy
following a development path that took him through Saltfleet Go Ahead SC, Burlington SC, St. Catharines Roma,
and Euro Pro Soccer Academy. His journey has also included time in Italy, where he played in competitive environments
with ASD Castel di Lama, ASD Atletico Azzurra Colli, and AC San Giovanni Lupatoto.
Now, he takes the next step in his career, bringing his technical ability, vision, and versatility
to a professional setting.
“This is a great opportunity to grow on and off the field and to prepare for future challenges and opportunities,”
says Ryan.
A dynamic winger who can also operate in midfield, Ryan thrives on creativity, movement, and smart decision-making
in the attacking third. His time in Europe gave him exposure to different styles of play, sharpening his ability
to adapt and compete at a high level.
“The biggest challenge I faced was moving to Europe to play football,” he reflects. “Being in a new country
and away from home was difficult, but it helped me develop both on and off the field.”
As he settles into the York United FC Academy environment, Ryan is ready to embrace the demands of League1 Ontario
and push himself to the next level. His focus remains on continuous improvement, with the ultimate goal of making
an impact at the professional level.
“I would say to always work hard and believe in yourself,” he advises to young players aspiring to follow
a similar path.
With his talent, experience, and drive, Ryan Giovannini is set to be a key addition to the Academy as the squad
prepares for the season ahead.
