YORK UNITED FC ANNOUNCE SIGNING OF CANADIAN WING-BACK KADIN MARTIN-PEREUX

The 20-year-old was most recently with SC Paderborn 07 II in Germany's fifth tier.

York United FC can confirm the signing of Canadian wing-back Kadin Martin-Pereux.

The 20-year-old arrives on a deal until the end of the year, with an option to extend by a further twelve months.

Having been with SC Paderborn 07 II in Germany's lower leagues since the summer of 2021, Martin-Peruex tallied an impressive seven goals and an assist across 29 appearances in the 2022/23 campaign. In one memorable league game back in March against Delbrucker SC, Martin-Pereux sensationally struck a 15-minute hat-trick.

A native of Victoria, BC, Martin-Pereux cut his teeth with the Victoria Highlanders, progressing all the way through their academy before making the move to Europe in his late-teens.

"Kadin has been training with us for a while and has impressed the staff," says Angus McNab, York United FC's CEO/President and GM.

"He's a great option for us in the last few games and we retain an option on him for 2024 as well."

The club has also announced two more Development Permit signings: Shola Jimoh and Adriano Iannello, who are both promoted from the United Football Academy.
