THE NINE STRIPES TO HOST VALOUR FC IN 2023 SEASON OPENER  

The game takes place at York Lions Stadium on Sunday, April 16.

We have a date, we have an opponent, we have a venue.

York United FC's 2023 Canadian Premier League odyssey will officially begin with a home clash 
against Valour FC on Sunday, April 16 at York Lions Stadium.

The fixture wraps up the season's opening weekend of action and kicks off at 2pm ET.

The teams' last meeting at YLS saw an impressive display from The Nine Stripes. Despite going behind 
to an early penalty, they showed excellent composure to find a way back into the game and goals 
from Mo Babouli, Chrisnovic N'sa and Luis Lawrie-Lattanzio secured an excellent 3-1 victory 
as Martin Nash's charges valiantly attempted to stay in the playoff hunt.

Overall, York United have faced Valour five times at York Lions Stadium since the league began in 2019, 
with a record of two wins and three defeats.

The full 2023 Canadian Premier League schedule will be released on Monday, January 30.
