FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – New England Revolution II (8-5-3; 30 pts.) battled Toronto FC II (3-8-4; 15 pts.), to a 1-1 draw
on Friday night at Gillette Stadium, claiming the extra point with a 4-2 shootout win. Revolution goalkeeper Jacob Jackson
made five saves as forward Jordan Adebayo-Smith scored his team-leading seventh goal of the season in the match.
Adebayo-Smith opened the scoring in the 37th minute after his high press caused a turnover in Toronto’s defense. The Englishman
led New England with three shots and three on target. Toronto tied the game with Julian Altobelli’s tally in the 61st minute.
After Revolution II’s three subs entered the match in the second half, goalkeeper Nico Campuzano was called upon
in the 83rd minute as an emergency forward for Weverton. The second-year pro closed out the remaining seven minutes of the
match in a field position and narrowly missed a scoring opportunity off a corner kick in stoppage time. With the score even
at one, the two sides headed to the penalty kick shootout.
New England’s Marcos Dias, Jacob Akanyirige, Ben Awashie, and Nakye Greenidge-Duncan all buried their opportunities while
Jackson recorded two saves in the shootout, marking his second shootout win of the season and securing the additional point
for Revolution II.
New England returns to action on Sunday, July 2 against Huntsville City FC at Joe Davis Stadium. The 7 p.m. match will

Forward Jordan Adebayo-Smith scored his seventh goal of the season to extend his team lead and surpassed 1,000 minutes played
with Revolution II after going the full 90. Adebayo-Smith’s seven goals place him tied for third for the league lead.
Adebayo-Smith also reached 1,000 career minutes for Revolution II
Revolution goalkeeper Jacob Jackson made five saves in regulation, tacking on an additional two saves in the penalty shootout.
Marcos Dias, Jacob Akanyrige, Ben Awashie and Nakye Greenidge-Duncan all scored for New England in the shootout.
Awashie recorded three shots in his first full 90-minute appearance since June 11 against Chicago Fire II.
Defender Ítalo made his first consecutive starts of the season, playing 62 minutes and recording one shot on target.
