Attendance climbed to about 100 by the second half. It was hot and overcast by game time and very humid. No waterbreaks were scheduled but players came to the sidelines when a trainer had to be called in to treat an injured player.

Both goalies had to make point blank stops and help with clearances by their defence or else this one could have easily ended 5-5.

Referee Vasyl Dzikh gave out ten Yellow cards that I counted. Besides the second Yellows there were two given to the Woodbridge bench. That included head coach Peter Pinizzotto and someone later on the bench who by the fourth official's table were told it was Franco Digiovanni at 73 minutes and finally got into the game at 88 minutes. I was sure he also drew a second Yellow at 95 minutes which would have meant he would have been ejected...game ended at 97 minutes. The L1O website almost 24 hours later still lists only Hugo with a direct Red and Doras with a Yellow and a Red. No cards to anyone else. A game between choirboys? Actually if it was up to both coaches (Sam Medeiros is head coach of Pro Stars) there'd have been twice as many cards...just not to their own guys! Good thing the field is natural grass to cushion the blows of the knockdowns.

By the time I got home, all the Saturday games were finished. There are eight teams still to play on Sunday.

The result improves Pro Stars record to 5 wins, 2 losses, 2 ties for 17 points. They are ranked eighth on the table but with the first four teams tied on 18 points and four teams tied on 17 points...it's like the standings change by the hour once the weekend starts!

Woodbridge's record improves to 3 wins, 3 losses, 4 ties for 13 points. Tonight that puts them all alone in twelfth place. Combined with the less weighted 2022 standings they have 33.75 points and are in a more comfortable eleventh place to survive the Top 12 Premier Division split that will be made at the end of this season.
