YORK UNITED FC CONFIRMS TRANSFER OF CANADIAN FORWARD MAMADOU KANE

The 19-year-old spent the latter part of the 2022 season on loan at FC Edmonton.

York United FC can confirm the transfer of Canadian forward Mamadou Kane to Vancouver Football Club.

The 19-year-old enjoyed an encouraging debut season after signing with The Nine Stripes in December 2021.
He made his debut for the club in the first game of the CPL campaign in April 2022 - a home clash with
HFX Wanderers - and went on to appear a further 12 times in all competitions before spending the latter
part of the season on loan at FC Edmonton.

"We thank Mama for his efforts while at the club," says Angus McNab, York United FC's CEO/President and GM.

"He’s a player we still see as having a massive future but for that development to happen he needs
to earn minutes. We feel Vancouver may be a better environment for that, especially given some of the
signings we are looking at making."

Prior to arriving at York United FC, Kane spent a number of years with the Club de Foot Montréal Academy.
While there, he received a call-up to the Canada Under-17 side for the 2019 World Cup in Brazil.
Kane featured in all three of the team's group games, starting the opener against the hosts while coming
off the bench against both Angola and New Zealand.
