NYRB II keeps rolling with road win at Toronto FC II August 24, 2016 7:22PM EDT Red Bulls Communications TORONTO (August 24, 2016) – New York Red Bulls II earned a fourth-straight victory on Wednesday night, defeating Toronto FC II 1-0 at the Ontario Soccer Centre. Junior Flemmings scored the game-winner for New York. New York is now 16-3-5 on the season, six points clear of the field in USL. NYRBII became the first team in USL to earn a 2016 playoff berth last Friday night with a 1-0 win over Louisville City FC. NYRB II collected its league-high 10th road win of the season in the match. NYRB II leads USL in goals (46) and goal differential (+28). Flemmings’ goal came after a Tyler Adams corner kick. After the original shot was saved, a rebound fell to the feet of Flemmings, who hammered it home for his seventh of the season, second-most on the team. Ryan Meara earned his ninth shutout, and the team’s 13th in 24 games, also a league-high. NYRB II returns home to host FC Cincinnati on Sunday, August 28. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:40 as part of a full soccer Sunday at Red Bull Arena. The match will follow the Red Bulls – New England Revolution MLS match (2:30 p.m.) and Red Bulls – Revs Special Olympics unified teams match (10:40 a.m.).
