Match Recap: Toronto FC II vs. Richmond Kickers July 23, 2016 9:26PM EDT Adam Krueger Toronto FC II saw their unbeaten streak come to an end as they fell 3-0 to the Richmond Kickers on Saturday night. A first half strike from Miguel Aguilar saw the Kickers take the early lead. Some beautiful passing in the midfield saw Aguliar find some space at the edge of the box. The DC united loanee curled his shot in off the far post past Phil Di Bennardo. A scary moment for the Young Reds after Phil Di Bennardo was taken off with an injury. This is the second time Di Bennardo has been taken off with an injury in the last three games. Early in the second half Samuel Asante was able to put the ball in the feet of StevenFurlano who took the quick winger down in the box. Yudai Imura stepped up and made no mistake to slot the ball past Angelo Cavalluzzo. The best chance of the match for the Reds came in 67th when Raheem Edwards out muscled a Kickers defender and cut into the box. However, an outstretched Matt Turner tipped his shot over the bar. Imura would finish with a brace, after his shot took a deflection in off a TFC defender and bounced past Cavalluzzo. The TFC II keeper would make a couple of huge saves late in the second half to keep the score at 3-0. The Young Reds are back in action Sunday, July 31 when they travel to Bethlehem to take on the Steel FC. Kickoff is set for 4PM ET.
