July 1, 2016 USL Toronto FC II--Wilmington Hammerheads FC vs Toronto FC II game preview (from wilmingtonhammerheads.com)

Round Two, Wilmington Meets Toronto at Legion Stadium

Wilmington, NC – The Wilmington Hammerheads will welcome Toronto FC II to Legion Stadium for the first time
this season, but challenge them on the field for the second time since May.

Wilmington charted international territory travelling to Toronto on May 29th where they won 3-1 at the Ontario
Soccer Centre. Saturday will be Wilmington’s 15th game of the USL season, where they hold a 4-5-5 record.

Head coach Mark Briggs stated, “Saturday’s match against the NY Red Bulls II was disappointing. We are regrouping
and looking forward to challenging Toronto.” He continued, “We’ve made a lot of changes since we last met
Toronto on the field. We beat them before; I know we can do it again. We just have to be on our A-game.”

As for this Saturday’s match, Toronto sits two seeds behind Wilmington with a 3-10-4 record. Representing
tenth place, the Hammerheads are fighting hard to secure a playoff position in the top nine. While their
defensive line-up is strong, and hold an even stronger stance with their midfield, their offensive line-up
is developing. Briggs explained, “Over the past several months we have continued to develop offensively.
There is a lot of potential, we just have to reign it in.”
