RHINOS FALL TO TORONTO FC II 2-1 By Rochester Rhinos , 06/12/16, 02:45PM EDT ROCHESTER, NY- The Rhinos took their second road trip to Canada Saturday night as they faced Toronto FC II. A beautiful night at Ontario Soccer Centre, both teams came out of the gate strong. Possession was even throughout the first with both teams seeing opportunities to score, but failing to capitalize. Dos Santos hit the cross bar early on for Rochester, while Toronto found the back of the net but the goal was waved off by officials. The first half was uneventful as both teams waited for play to develop. Dos Santos remained a force up top for Rochester throughout the game, but Toronto's defense remained strong. The second half started the same as the first until the last twenty minutes when Toronto found new life. They picked up play enough to add their third win of the season to their record. Luca Uccello scored his first goal of the season late in the second half to put Toronto up 1-0. Later in stoppage time, Malik Johnson would add to the score making it 2-0 for Toronto FC II. Rochester was put on the board by defender Joe Farrell with his second stoppage time goal of the season. The late efforts by Rochester weren’t enough for a comeback though and the defending champs fell to Toronto 2-1. The Rhinos face MLS New York Red Bulls this Wednesday in the Fourth Round of the U.S Open Cup. Rochester is now 5-3-3 on the season.
