Attendance was not announced but shows on the USL website as 672 for this cool evening that got a lot colder once the sun had set. Parkas in May! Referee Alexis Vaughan called three Yellow cards in the game—two to TFC II in a game that never got rough.

Best non-scoring chances were at 34 minutes when TFC II Mo Babouli took a 28 yard freekick on the left which the goalie flew over to catch on the left post and hung on. 54 minutes had LC Jon Chandler Hoffman (the USL's leading scorer with seven goals) received a short pass in the box and his 12 yard shot had the goalie save on the short side. 85 minutes had TFC II Daniel Lovitz rush on the left and roll a cross from 15 yards that TFC II Raheem Edwards whiffed on at 8 yards. Added time had TFC II Lovitz break up a 2 on 1 break with a key header at 6 yards. TFC II Edwards rolled a cross from 15 yards on the far left through the 6 yard box that was a step ahead of Shaan Hundall on the left post and Sal Bernal on the right post has his 4 yard shot tipped wide right by a defender.

The shutout was earned by Gregory Ranjitsingh who is from the GTA area and had a lot of friends and family here for support. I was watching him in 2014 play for Sigma FC in the first year of League 1 Ontario! This is back to back shutouts for him as he earned his other one on Sunday on the road against Bethlehem Steel FC. He's allowed just one goal in three starts for the team.

Louisville Midfielder Mark Anthony Kaye was playing for TFC II last year after working his way through the TFC Academy and it was nice to see him find a place to play.

Yesterday it was announced that Toronto FC (MLS) was loaning eight players to TFC II. Some of them had just been recalled from TFC II on Friday! Goalie Quillan Roberts, defender Nick Hagglund, and midfielders Chris Mannella and Jay Chapman were those players and all started tonight. Also 'loaned' were MLS contracted players defenders Eriq Zavaleta and Mark Bloom, midfielder Daniel Lovitz, and forward Mo Babouli. All of those players started except Bloom who was subbed in at 56 minutes. I thought Lovitz was the best of these players as he played at cornerback but had some long runs upfield and crossed high, low, and medium into the box but couldn't get a teammate to score.

I don't know if parachuting these players into the roster the day before the game helps with cohesion of the team chemistry. Young Shaan Hundal (only age 15) who played well in their other two home games came into the game at 71 minutes to replace Babouli. Defender and often team captain Skylar Thomas was watching from the stands. I must remember though that TFC uses this team to prepare players for their MLS side.

TFC II's record falls to 1 win, 2 ties, 3 losses so far this season.

Louisville City who were already the first place team in the Eastern Conference improves to 5 wins, 2 ties, 1 loss for 17 points. Last year they were affiliated with Orlando City of MLS but this year since that team started up Orlando City B in their own city, Louisville has been playing as one of the stand alone indy teams of the league although Orlando is still is a minority owner.

TFC midfielder Jonathan Osorio was here tonight but no worries about him being demoted to TFC II as he was just manning the autograph table for fans. His defender brother Anthony may have been one of the players pushed down the roster by the eight player drop as he wasn't even on the bench tonight.

TFC II's next game is Wednesday May 11th when they play home here at Ontario Soccer Centre against Richmond Kickers who they just lost 1-0 in Richmond last Saturday. Strange time for this game is at 11:30am. I'm not sure the reason for this but will imagine that loads of school children will be bused here like the old days of watching Toronto Lynx and Lady Lynx do these matinee events once a year.
