Attendance was announced as a sellout of 30025. This was certainly a Premium priced game. My ticket said it was $146.00 which is more that twice the price of my Amway Canadian Championship Final game ticket this coming Tuesday. Tuesday night? That's not much rest but I've heard it is because the CFL home opener is this Friday/weekend and the groundscrew needs the extra day to reconfigure the stadium for football. I didn't notice any damage from the Argo pre-season game last week. Vancouver Whitecaps (Tuesday's opponent) is also playing tonight and has to make the flight here.

Galaxy only play in Toronto every second year but with expansion and reshaping the two conferences it's been three years since they were last in town. An absence of their stars happened again like in previous years with David Beckham being away or injured on so many occasions. Tonight Robbie Keane (forward) is away at the Euros playing for Ireland. Gyasi Zardes (midfield) is away at the Copa playing for the USA. I wasn't sure why Steven Gerrard wasn't playing but that disappointed many fans wearing Liverpool jerseys with Gerrard's number. The answer given later was that he was suffering from a hamstring injury and didn't travel with the team but the announcement was only made public one hour before the game.

TFC are still missing injured forward Jozy Altidore and midfielder/captain Michael Bradley was away with the US National team. He will miss at least another week as the USA made the Copa semi-finals. So much for a Premium priced ticket matching a Premium played game.

Tonight Benoit Cheyrou slipped into Bradley's new holding midfielder role and fit in quite nicely at that position and also wore Bradley's captain's armband.

TFC manager Greg Vanney even made a move to protect their lead by subbing in a defender Nick Hagglund for midfielder Marky Delgado at 80 minutes. This didn't result in overcrowding as Justin Morrow formally moved up to the left wing were he had ventured all night anyway.

TFC hadn't won an MLS game in their last four and were slipping in the standings. Tonight was a big win to move up in the weak Eastern Conference. Earlier in the afternoon New York City FC beat leaders Philadelphia Union to keep all playoff contenders close. The Galaxy have now not won in their last five games.

Jordan Hamilton got his first MLS start for TFC but Mo Babouli replaced him at 66 minutes. Neither looked as dangerous as Sebastian Giovinco. Italy has not been missing Giovinco after their manager's snub as they're doing fine at the Euros.

Giovinco was well marked by multiple defenders but still got away some shorts. His freekicks were wasted into player walls at least twice.

TFC defenders made some key blocks and goalie Clint Irwin made some important saves but Galaxy shooting could have been a lot better.

Neither team could win a Penalty kick. Referee Ricardo Salazar gave out only one Yellow card and let the players play on through many of the knockdowns.

Justin Morrow was on today's ticket. He is the first non-designated player on a ticket this season.

There was a moment of silence for victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando Florida. The stadium showed a 'Stand With Orlando' MLS players promo video before the game and a rainbow flag in the supporter's section.

The TFC goalscoring slum had lasted since their May 14th game in MLS play. That meant they hadn't scored in their three previous league games.
