Emmanuel Issac (43') and Dylan Carriero (57') snagged the necessary goals
for Woodbridge Strikers to beat out Toronto Skillz 2-1 in matchweek eighteen.
Mitchell Wong (86') got the late consolation marker for the Skillz.

"If we could have scored on a number of good chances that we had,
obviously I think we could have had a higher scoreline here,"
aid Woodbridge head coach, Peter Pinizzotto.

"Toronto Skillz as well missed a couple great chances in the first half,
so at the end I think we deserved to win, but I have to give credit
to Toronto Skillz," he added.

"They certainly didn't make it easy for us, they're a young team, with
a lot of energy, and they play with great intensity. They also played
with great belief that they could tie the game and at the end they
almost did."

"[League1] has been a good experience for us," said Toronto Skillz
head coach, Leslie "Tiger" Fitzpatrick. "It has been an eye-opener
for a lot of these guys."

"Every game that we play, a couple coaches have said it, we're not
in a position that justifies the quality of the team, that accurately
reflects the quality that we have," he added.

"With that, however, is a lot of inexperience and a lot of youth
so there is growing pains."

"Tactically we had a lot deficiencies earlier in the year and I think
we've tried to adjust that and now you see it reflected in a lot
of the scorelines. It's a lot closer and we're not giving
up as many goals. A couple blips here and there but we'll take it."

Woodbridge is second in the east division on 35 points, five back
of Vaughan in first place. Both teams have five matches left to play
in pursuit of the east division top spot and a place in the League1
Ontario Championship final. Durham United FA is also hot on their heels
with a game in hand and only three points back.

"There is something that we need to improve and that is something you
cannot teach, and that is scoring goals," concluded Pinizzotto.

"We seem to have a hard time scoring our chances and that is one area
we really really need improvement in right now."
