Toronto FC Academy Returns To Winning Ways With 8-2 Result Over Pro Stars 08/28/2016, 8:30am EDT By League1 Ontario staff Toronto FC Academy recovered their impressive late season form after dismantling Pro Stars on Friday with an 8-2 away result, following goals from Richie Ennin (9'), Glenn Muenkat (12'), Nicholas Osorio (20'), Cyrus Rollocks (45'), Ethan Bekford (65'), Afram Gorgees (78'), Armando Caracciolo (82') and Dante Campbell (87'). "I think there were a couple nervy moments when it was 2-0 and they brought it to 2-1," said Toronto FC head coach, Stuart Neely. "We replied to make it 3-1 but right at that point they hit the post as well. I think we would have been able to claw back a goal regardless of the situation, but the boys buckled down and got on with their game." "These are difficult matches to play at times, it's a tight field, and tight, bouncy turf, but I think we controlled the majority of the match and only gave up a couple opportunities," added Neely. "I think in the end we tried to maintain our focus and discipline throughout the match and keep at them based on our game plan and style of play. I thought the boys certainly deserved the result they got tonight." Pro Stars' Mann Slewa (14') and Michael Fayehun (60') scored relatively early in each half for the home side, but the team could not sustain their tempo and positive attacking moves. "In the first half I thought we started off well for the first ten minutes but then we literally fell apart after that," said Pro Stars head coach, Stiven Mikhail. "TFC has pace and stamina and they just kept working us and working us and eventually if you keep working the other team settles down and becomes disorganized and then you put goals away," he added. "That's exactly what TFC demonstrated today." Mikhail felt his team had some momentum and purpose heading into the second half, but again could not find the necessary discipline and efficiency. "At half-time we regrouped, we spoke to the team about what we wanted them to do and again the first ten or fifteen minutes were much better," he said. "It was beautiful, they came out, pressed, won the ball, we had a few chances and scored. But, again, it was the same pattern - disorganization set in, we fell apart, and TFC took advantage again."
