Sun August 21, 2016 League 1 Ontario--North Toronto Nitros vs Master's Futbol (from League 1 Ontario website)
Eight Goal Esther Shiner Thriller As North Toronto Blasts Masters 6-2 08/22/2016, 10:00pm EDT By League1 Ontario staff North Toronto Nitros made it four wins in five matches after Jayden Doyle (7', 28'), Killian Elkinson (30', 90') and Myles Abreo (45', 54') stuck home braces over Masters to win 6-2. Christian Inchima (32') and Allando Matheson (86') put home singles for a Masters' side that wouldn't give up, but couldn't find the necessary solution to North Toronto's energy and relentless attack. "Well I mean it's always the same thing as I have said recently," said North Toronto head coach, Hermann Kingue. "We had a good preseason and what happened since or what is going on now is just the result of working hard, and a good organization." Asked about the quality of his goalscorers, Kingue was eager to spread around the praise. "Let us start with Elkinson," he said. "Everyone knows he is a very skillful player and having been around him for three or four months now I think he's a smart player as well and so I am not surprised that he can score all the time, or when he can't score he makes others shine." "We also knew of Jayden's potential because I've been working with him for almost five years and I'm not surprised," he added. "And Myles is a fullback usually but it's a game so sometimes you move pieces around," explained Kingue. "Wherever you put him, he adapts and makes the difference." Masters' technical staff was unavailable for comment. With the win, North Toronto has moved to fourth position in the east division with 30 points from 16 matches, setting up a tantalizing finish to the season with the four top teams neck in neck. At the top, Vaughan Azzurri leads the charge with 37 points from 16 matches. In second is Durham United FA with 32 points from 15 matches. Currently holding third position is Woodbridge Strikers, with 32 points from 16 matches.
