Clippers Keep Home Form Intact After 5-1 Win Over Pro Stars 07/24/2016, 2:45pm EDT By League1 Ontario staff Kingston Clippers took their home winning form to eight matches unbeaten on Saturday, as Andrew Martin (7'), Lucas Blain (46'), Joey Pineo (60'), Jeremy Arnold (76') and Andrew Whiteman (85') bashed in five goals to beat Pro Stars 5-1. "I think we could have been better today, honestly," said Kingston technical director, Chris Eveleigh. "I think teams are scared about coming to Kingston and that plays a big part in why we win every game here. I'm serious. That's really it, you can put that down." Lucas Doros (75') added the sole marker for Pro Stars. "Defensively we just need to be more organized, and our communication must be better," said Pro Stars assistant coach, Stiven Mikhail. "I think sometimes we lack in that area, and that causes goals against us that shouldn't be happening." Opening the scoring inside the first ten minutes following a goal-mouth scramble in the Pro Stars box from a ricocheted corner kick, Kingston stayed on the front foot for much of the match. The Clippers had three in the net before Pro Stars could respond, and quickly cancelled out any late belief for Pro Stars after scoring a minute after Doros' tally. Eveleigh was quietly optimistic about the team's future prospects. "People just don't like riding the bus all the way here, and if this keeps up we're quietly going to win the league in the next couple of years," he claimed. Kingston hosts Toronto FC Academy on July 28 (8 p.m.) at Queen's University, Tindall Field. Pro Stars take on North Toronto Nitros at Ontario Soccer Centre on July 30 (12 p.m.).
